Fun Moments this week

I know I have mentioned it once or twice in my last posts, but last week was VBS sports camp. I truly think the coaches had just as much fun as the kids. We worshiped, played, and most importantly we learned how to honor God with everything we do, even in our SPORTS! I think the kids were really receptive and learned a lot. That, my people, is what makes it so much fun!

On another note: For the past 3 years, we have celebrated with some of our closest friends on the 4th of July. It has become a tradition, and I am sooooo glad. All of us were expecting at the same time, and we have just had a great time doing life together. Here are some of the pictures of the great event. Grant and Gage playing. I know it is hard to believe, but Gage is the baby in this group. Grant was born April 30th, Cade, May 13th, Barrett, June 23, and Gage, September 28. (Cade and Barrett are not in the picture).

Here is Grant, who wanted to get in the car. We loved watching him figure out how he was going to get in it. He decided that the door was way too easy, so he was going to do it the Duke's of Hazard way, through the window. Ha ha

Here is Grant again enjoying Mrs. Cathy blowing bubbles. His face was so surprised every time he saw a bubble. He was to cute to watch.

Here is sweet little Cade. You can see Mrs. Cathy behind him blowing bubbles. Cade loved that stick. He would not let anyone touch it. It was really funny to watch him try to protect it.
Again, here is Cade and again here is the stick. He held it the entire time he ate.

In the below picture is Cade, Anna Claire, and Gage. Let me give a formal introduction to Anna Claire and her family. She is a new addition to the group, and we are so glad. First of all she is the oldest, and second of all she is the only girl. We are all so excited that her parents are now apart of our circle of friends. They are such a blessing.

I also want to say, where in the world is Barrett! In all my pictures, I have none of Barrett, so I decided I would put a picture of him at his birthday party a couple of weeks ago. He is so active that I guess my camera could not get a shot of him this weekend. They all had a blast, and by the end of the night they were looking for the pillow. It was a great night! I think we all said it at least once last night. "Man, things have sure changed since last year!" Well, I would have to agree things have changed, and I would not want it any other way.

Lastly, I would like to share a challenging verse I came across as I was reading Proverbs this week. "How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing. And fools hate knowledge?" Proverb 1:22. Serving God is no simple minded task. Following Him is a way of life that always contradicts the world.

Look what I can do

Yes, Gage is pulling up. He had been pulling up on his very own for about a week now. He is not crawling yet. I know what you are thinking and the answer is NO. He might be a little late, but mommy is not worried YET! He is nine months old now, and he seems to be meeting all of his other developmental steps, so I am sure he will figure it out. He might just say forget it and start walking. Ha ha.
Here are a couple of pictures we took today. He is eating real strawberries for the first time. If you have never seen this contraption; it is pretty neat. You put food in this little mesh bag, and he can hold it a chew on it. We have done all kinds of fruit, and he loves it. They have them at Baby R Us, if you are interested.

It is VBS this week, and Gran (my mother) is coming to help out with Gage. We cannot wait to see her. We are doing a sport camp, and I am one of the cheer coaches for 1st grade. I am really excited and ready to be corny again. You know what I mean; swooshing the pony tail and putting on the cheer face. Ha ha. It is in the evening to try to beat the heat, but I really think the heat is still going to be beating us. I will try to post more about it later.

Pinelake's VBS

This year I was lucky enough to get to help with VBS. I had so much fun teaching K5 with Kimberly Shape. I have to admit at first I was scared. I have never been a teacher so of course that made it treaty. I mean how do I talk to 5-old-year kids. Well, come to find out talking to them was not hard for me at all. I act more like a 5-old-year than I thought. (ha)

The theme was "Imagine 2009". Below you will see a stage full of painting. On Monday (sorry I did not get a picture on Monday) the stage was completely white. The fence was white, the canvases were white, and the cross was white. Each day we have people painting on stage while we worshiped and praised the Lord. On Friday, the entire stage was covered in beautiful paintings and word of praise. We really had a great time as you can see below.
