‘We Got Some Dawgs’ Making a Racket:Fourteenth Annual MSU Tennis Tournament set for July 11-13 There’ll be some Dawgs making a racket in Jackson at Parham Bridges Tennis Center on July 11, but the barking will be backhands and the growling will be ground strokes as the Central Mississippi MSU Alumni Chapter’s 14th Annual Tennis Tournament begins a three-day run. Well known among area players for its combination of competition and fun, winners also receive coveted prizes such as dinners from local restaurants and merchandise or services from area merchants.“In the Jackson and Mississippi tennis community, our tournament has become an event that many people look forward to and mark their calendar for every year,” says Fred Nichols, Chapter President. All proceeds go to funding chapter scholarships for local students. The event could not be possible without the generous support of corporate sponsors, who provide donations, reduced-cost goods and services, and a large majority of the prizes.
